Ladies' man

We moved to Gull Lake a month ago. Ankor moved here one week ago. Yet, when we go for walks, more people know him (by name, if I may add), stop to talk to him, want to be friends with him, tell him how handsome he is, etc..

And yes, most of them are women.

Look at him - I really can't blame them.

lazy bones

Ankor "Lazy Bones" D. C.

This morning we went for a walk/jog around town, made friends with a few people, explored, picked up the mail and came back home. This is how he is currently drinking his water. I think he may be tired.

Thing is - he's been drinking like this at all times of the day; before & after walks, after playing, cuddling or eating..

I think Lazy Bones fits well.

We may be slightly jealous - if we try to drink like this, we either spill all over ourselves or chose.

Leash, Pee, sit... (sung similarly to the ABC song)

In the last 24 hours we have learned...

- if we pee in the house, we must immediately brace ourselves to be transported outside.
- if we pee outside, we get a treat and lots of love.
- that we pee in the front yard, not besides the house.
- that the green cup brings us food.
- that food only comes if we relax.
- that we must sit down to have the leash put on or taken off.
- this thing around the neck (collar), sucks ass.
- that if we run into Ninface or Rewhead's feet and legs, it can hurt.
- that we don't growl at other dogs.
- we do not bite our owners hands when they feed us.
- the meaning of "relax" and all the love & amazing things it brings us.

The newest addition to our family

Meet Ankor (Ang'kr)

Ankor's mom was a Border Collie crossed with an Australian Shepherd and his dad was German Shepherd crossed with a Chow Chow. He's our spoiled, little cutie pie.

We've been going on kijiji randomly for the last... oh, year or so, looking at the dogs who need homes. We weren't really allowed to have a dog before, our landlord didn't allow it. Nor did our budget or lifestyle. Now we live in a house with a yard, have an awesome landlord (haha), and our "Australia fund" as excess cash (kind of).

We've looked at pups since having moved here. Many (okay, most) temporarily stole our hearts - but when we came across this little guy and his siblings - it was love at first sight.

We were set on going to meet the pups with an open mind -- not picking our pup based on its looks (even though the 2 little spotted ones had already stolen our hearts), but how they act with us, in comparison to the others. All that fun stuff which is near impossible with puppies - but it was our plan.

Long story short.. Ankor stole our hearts. It was immediate. When they were all running around the yard and we picked them up to look at them, cuddle them, most of them wiggled and tried to jump out or lick our faces off.

Not Ankor. He snuggled his furry little head in our face and just sit there with the occasional wet nose rub against ours.

As I told my mom - how could we go there, meet him and NOT bring him home with us.
